Welcome again to the Epicwin Pirates of the Caribbean quiz (History Lesson). Pirates of the Caribbean is a film franchise made by J. Bruckheimer and is made from the idea of a Disney’s adventure park ride with the same name. The movie franchise is now an important part of the iconic television franchise.
The movie series began in 2003 with Pirates of the Caribbean, The Curse of the Black Pearl, which was well-received by both audiences and film reviewers. It also grossed $654 million worldwide. Following the success of the first movie, Walt Disney Pictures announced that perhaps another film was in the pipeline.
The first film was Pirates of the Caribbean. The Curse of the Black Pearl. This was a film based on the novel Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. In the film, Will Turner, a blacksmith, joins forces with quirky Captain Jack Sparrow to retrieve Elizabeth Swann from corrupted pirates driven by Jack’s disloyal old first mate, Hector Barbossa. Jack seeks vengeance on Barbossa, who abandoned him on the island while taking his ship, as well as over 800 pieces of ancient gold.
The second film was Pirates of the Caribbean. Dead Man’s Chest which was in theatres and came out in 2006. In this next version of the saga, William and Elizabeth Swann are locked away by Lord Beckett.
Remember Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End? in this film, our good friend Lord Beckett decides to take over Davy Jones, he does this with the help of the always scary Flying Dutchman. He now begins preparations to end piracy forever. William, Elizabeth, and Barbossa, as well as the friendly pirates on the Pearl head out to free Captain Jack from Jones’ Locker. Key facts to remember in our Pirates of the Caribbean Quiz.
The fourth film was “Pirates of the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides” and came out in 2011. Our good old friend Captain Jack now on a journey to discover the elusive Fountain of immortality when he encounters a past love acquaintance, Angelica. She pushes Jack to get onboard the Anne’s Revenge, a warship commanded by Angelica’s boyfriend, the notorious rogue Blackbeard. They are both looking for the youth fountain to help Angelica to save her dad, and Blackbeard to stay away from a prediction that he will lose his life at the hands of a man with one leg… Wierd we know. Keep reading though… Now an Ex pirate captain Barbossa is now a privateer in King George II’s Navy, joins the search for the Fountain of Youth, racing against the Spanish.
The fifth and probably not the last film was Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and came out in 2017. Offtopic, feeling pickle rick? Back to Pirates… Cptn Armando Salazar, who is Sparrow’s old foe, heads a group of haunting Royal Navy warriors out the Evil Triangle with the intention of murdering any pirate who is out in the ocean, including Captain Sparrow. Sparrow finds the mythical Trident, a mighty artifact whose user can alter the waves, winds, underwater creatures, and lift curses, in order to live.
The films are known for their high caliber of acting talent; this is one of the films’ most lauded features. The visual and physical effects were regarded as some of the finest ever achieved on film, with viewers believing that certain CGI aspects of the movies were genuine and performed literally. The stories of the four sequels, on the other hand, have received criticism, with the overall opinion being they’re too complicated and convoluted to understand. After years of either no pirate movies or disappointing pirate films, Pirates of the Caribbean is credited with reviving the pirate film genre. That’s why we felt we had to do this epic Pirates of the Caribbean Quiz. Definitely our fav out of all our film quizzes. What are your thought on Spongebob?
